Touching Moment Four:American Country Musician Works on a New Song Through the Night

Post Last Edit by editor at 2009-05-06 17:24:39

Driven by his love for Chinese culture and Zhangjiajie’s beautiful scenery, American cowboy-style country musician Mark Levine wrote a spirited song called “Welcome to Zhangjiajie”. Since some people said the song’s original melody and lyrics “weren’t Chinese enough”, he went to work re-writing it to better fit the traditional Chinese musical style. To get it ready for the closing ceremony and win the hearts of the Chinese audience, he worked throughout the night until five o’clock in the morning of the day of the closing ceremony. When we went to pick him up at the hotel, this “perfectionist” from America, Mark Levine, was still lovingly working out the final draft of his tribute song.
